Common Questions
Root canal treatment can feel daunting. These are the questions we are asked most often.
View all FAQsUnder local anaesthetic, root canal treatment should not be painful. Most patients are surprised by how comfortable the experience is. We take time to ensure you are fully numb before starting, and we will stop at any point if you feel discomfort.
This depends on the complexity of your case. Many treatments are completed in one or two appointments. We will give you a clear timeline at your consultation once we have assessed the tooth and taken appropriate radiographs.
If assessment shows the tooth is not restorable, we will discuss your options honestly — including extraction and replacement alternatives. We will never recommend treatment that is not in your best interest.
In most cases, yes — particularly for back teeth, which are under significant biting forces. Timely restoration is one of the most important factors in long-term success. Your own dentist will manage this phase of treatment.
Yes. We welcome self-referrals, including urgent pain cases and patients seeking a second opinion. You do not need a referring dentist — simply contact us directly to arrange a consultation.
